Stitched up

The Gucci group gave Poke the job of designing and building Alexander McQueen's first website.

It was like an erotic fashion dream come true. But a bit scary. Like a dream about maidens in great dresses who turn out to be sexy vampires. Sorry, enough of the dreaming, back to the site...

Designing a site for one of the greatest designers in the world is a great honour, but a huge challenge too.

The site was designed as a vessel. Something that would contain the McQueen work and not overpower the collections. The site is a distillation of his style and personality. The transitions and interface of the site are based around classical tailoring and the craft of McQueen.

Probably one of our finest 'design moments' and one of only a tiny handful of websites to have been awarded an Interactive Bafta.
